My name is Jessica Hagen and I am very excited to be coming on board as New Song’s Academy Director and first and second grade combo class teacher. This is special to me on many levels! To give you some personal background, my parents were the founding pastors of New Song Church and New Song Christian Academy. I can vividly remember standing on the bare church site in 2002. It is truly astounding for me to reflect on all that God has done in this place since then! Professionally, I come to you with 15 years of experience in the field of education. I hold a BS in Elementary Education and a MS in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught for nine years in Clark County School District and have spent the last six years working for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Western Governors University as a student teacher supervisor and instructor. As a parent of academy students these past few years, I have witnessed time and time again the love and dedication the teachers pour into my own children. I am honored to be joining this incredible staff and look forward to a wonderful school year with our amazing students and families!
I grew up in sunny Southern California and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1992 to attend UNLV. I earned a BS in Hospitality Management which set in motion the next 30 trailblazing years throughout the hotel, food & beverage and event planning world. My husband, Kevin, and I adopted our first daughter, Olivia in 2016 and a new journey began in so many ways. I became a mom and a stay-at-home mommy; in 2020 we were blessed to adopt our second daughter, Violet. We also have 3 big doggies, 4 cats and 3 tortoises to round out the craziness! I love hanging out with my family and friends, good food & bevys, BBQ’s, being poolside, lakeside and beach-side. I am looking forward to this next adventure ~ being part of the NSCA family and getting to know and cherish all of you and your families!
I am Birgit Drowanowski and I have been teaching here at NSCA for 12 years. I have 17 years of teaching experience. I am a German native and have taught Kindergarten prior to my move to the USA in the late 90’s. I obtained my teaching degree from Germany as well as an early childhood education degree from the USA and have an associate degree in Psychology. I love teaching Kindergarten! I create and offer an enriching learning environment with active learning opportunities for my students. Young children are eager to learn, explore, experience, and witness new things. Seeing that smile and connection when I help a child learn something new and setting a strong foundation that prepares them for first grade is very rewarding. In my off time I like to spend time with my daughters and our many rescue pets.
Hello Everyone, I am Monica Inouye and I am going to be the new Kinder teacher at New Song. I am excited to have the opportunity to teach at the Academy. I come to NSCA from CCSD where I have spent the last 24 years, primarily at Lamping Elementary and Wallin Elementary.
I received my Bachelor of Science and began my Master’s in Utah. My husband and I have been here for the past 31 years and raised our family in Henderson. We have made so many wonderful memories and look forward to the good times the future has in store for us.
Your children and I will be working hard to build a solid academic foundation that will serve them well in the years to follow. For many, it will be their first introduction to all-day school, and it is so important that they have a Kindergarten year that fosters and promotes their growth
in not only academic content, but in becoming good, kind, caring and respectful people. I cannot wait to meet my Kinders!!
Teaching young children is my passion and I feel so fortunate to get to do what I love every day and to work at such an amazing school! I have been teaching at New Song Christian Academy since 2016, and I am looking forward to the start of another wonderful year at New Song! My teaching career began at Good Samaritan Christian Academy in Las Vegas. What I enjoy most about working with this age group is their enthusiasm for learning and their boundless imagination. I am so blessed to have two amazing young adult children; Megan and Brandon, a wonderful husband; Adam and the cutest little fur baby; Teddy. We have lived in Henderson since July 2007. I love spending time with my family playing board games, camping, hiking, swimming, and enjoying backyard barbecues. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to work with your children and to get to know your families this school year!
Hello! I am beyond excited to be one of the lead teachers for Pre-K this year. Working with kids is a true passion of mine and being a teacher is a childhood dream that came to life. I started a degree in Elementary education and then put it on pause when I decided to grow my family. I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and at the same time was blessed to be a mom again. I decided I should stay home for a couple more years to be with my newest addition. However, God had different plans for me when I was approached with an opportunity I could not pass up. Last year I was an assistant teacher for Pre-K with Aprende Academy. Before the school year was over, I just knew I had to be a full-time lead teacher. My love for kids starts at home with my four beautiful children. Before this I worked six fabulous years at the Happiest Place on Earth! I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the team at New Song and I cannot wait to spend my days with all the amazing children that attend our academy!
Hi! My name is Lori Buzynski and I’m so excited to begin this new adventure at NSCA as one of the Pre-K/Preschool teachers. I couldn’t do this without the support of my husband, Pete, my two amazing children, Aarika and Blake, and my two adorable grandchildren, Lylah and Logan. They are my world, and I am truly blessed. We moved to Vegas 9 years ago after my husband retired from the USAF. During his 30 years of service, we were stationed in NV, FL, PA, HI, and AZ. I had the privilege of being a licensed childcare provider in all 5 states working with children from the ages of birth to 5.
A few of my favorite accomplishments during my 30 years of working and learning with young children. ~ first accredited childcare provider on Nellis AFB ~ Nursery coordinator for a Lutheran Church ~ worked alongside the TAP program that provided childcare for teenage parents. Children are my passion. I have always enjoyed learning and growing with children through adventures and play. Children bring out the best of me and continually give me a reason to smile every day. Life without children is like a day without sunshine. I look forward to beginning this new chapter of my life with all of you. I’m excited, eager, and anxious all at the same time, but ready to get this school year started. Let’s do this!!!
My name is Veronica Ramos and I am a mother of 2 wonderful daughters. I am also a wife of an amazing husband who is currently serving as an active duty Airman at Nellis Air Force Base. I was raised in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico and moved to the states when I was a child. I love to inspire children to reach their full potential, and I cannot wait to also teach them about our Heavenly Father and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Last year, marked my first official year being a lead preschool teacher for the 3’s class. It was an absolute honor being their first teacher. I loved every moment I got to spend with them. This will be my second year as a lead pre-k teacher for the 3’s classroom, guiding our little lambs to God. I am honored and blessed for the opportunity. I have found my calling and I absolutely love what I do. Everyday is a wonderful blessing to guide and teach them with love. I get so excited to see them master a letter, a shape, social-emotional skills, cognitive skills, physical skills while also seeing them grow spiritually speaking in the love of God. I am looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you. It is an absolute honor being your child’s first teacher. I am so excited for this second school year as I have more ideas that I would like to introduce to students to boost their overall positive learning experience, while reaching their full potential through developmentally appropriate lessons.
I have been a part of New Song’s Christian Academy since 2012, and it has been fascinating to witness its growth. I grew up in Southern California and moved to the Anthem community with my husband and daughter in 2003, where we have been residents ever since. I hold an Associate’s degree from Moorpark College, CA. Throughout my daughter’s schooling, I was actively involved, serving as a room mom and participating in the PTA. Additionally, I was a “Soccer Mom” for 13 years and the team manager for my daughter’s competitive soccer club. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my wonderful family and pets. At New Song Christian Academy, I cherish my connection with the kids and their families. I take pride in setting a solid foundation that prepares the children for kindergarten and beyond, ensuring they leave New Song with a love for learning.
I am happy to be starting this school year at New Song Christian Academy. I was born and raised in Southern California and earned my AA and Certificate in Early Childhood Education at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. I moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota for three years and took a break from teaching but missed it dearly. I look forward to being an Assistant Preschool Teacher and Leading the After School Enrichment Program as working with children is definitely my calling in this life!
