My name is Jessica Hagen and I am very excited to be continuing this year as New Song’s Academy Director and second and third grade combo class teacher. Working here is special to me on many levels! To give you some personal background, my parents were the founding pastors of New Song Church and New Song Christian Academy. I can vividly remember standing on the bare church site in 2002. It is truly astounding for me to reflect on all that God has done in this place since then! Professionally, I come to you with 16 years of experience in the field of education. I hold a BS in Elementary Education and a MS in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught for nine years in Clark County School District, then spent six years working for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Western Governors University as a student teacher supervisor and instructor. I’m thrilled to be “rolling-up” with my students from last year. I know it’s going to be another fun-filled and special school year, and I can’t wait to dive back in!

I grew up in sunny Southern California and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1992 to attend UNLV. I earned a BS in Hospitality Management which set in motion the next 30 trailblazing years throughout the hotel, food & beverage and event planning world. My husband, Kevin, and I adopted our first daughter, Olivia in 2016 and a new journey began in so many ways. I became a mom and a stay-at-home mommy; in 2020 we were blessed to adopt our second daughter, Violet. We also have 3 big doggies, 4 cats and 3 tortoises to round out the craziness! I love hanging out with my family and friends, good food & bevys, BBQ’s, being poolside, lakeside and beach-side. I am looking forward to this next adventure ~ being part of the NSCA family and getting to know and cherish all of you and your families!

Hello, I am Birgit Drowanowski and I have been teaching here at NSCA for 14 years. I have over 20 years of teaching experience. I am a German native and have taught Kindergarten prior to my move to the USA in the late 90’s. I obtained my teaching degree from Germany as well as an early childhood education degree from the USA and have an associate degree in Psychology. I am looking forward to teaching first grade this year. I create and offer an enriching learning environment with active learning opportunities for my students. Young children are eager to learn, explore, experience, and witness new things. Seeing that smile and connection when I help a child learn something new and setting a strong foundation that prepares them for the next grade level is very rewarding. In my off time, I like to spend time with my daughters and our many rescue pets.

My name is Mrs. Molina, and I am beyond excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher! Working with children has always been a passion of mine, and becoming a teacher was a childhood dream come true. I began my college journey studying Elementary Education and later earned a degree in Criminal Justice. This will be my third-year teaching, and I truly love it more with each passing year. I’m also a proud mom of four amazing children, ranging from toddler to teenager! Having such a wide range at home has helped me adapt to many different learning styles— something that has been incredibly helpful in the classroom. I deeply believe in the importance of strong parent/teacher communication and equally strong student/teacher connections. Please know that I am always here for you—we are a team! My goal is for this to be a joyful, safe, and enriching school year for all of us. For returning families, welcome back! You already know how fantastic the New Song community is. And to those who are joining us for the first time—WELCOME! You are becoming part of one of the most caring and supportive school communities in town, and we are so happy to have you. I cannot wait to get to know you and your child. Here’s to a wonderful year of growth, laughter, and learning!

Teaching young children is my passion and I feel so fortunate to get to do what I love every day and to work at such an amazing school! I have been teaching at New Song Christian Academy since 2016, and I am looking forward to the start of another wonderful year at New Song! My teaching career began at Good Samaritan Christian Academy in Las Vegas. What I enjoy most about working with this age group is their enthusiasm for learning and their boundless imagination. I am so blessed to have two amazing young adult children; Megan and Brandon, a wonderful husband; Adam and the cutest little fur baby; Teddy. We have lived in Henderson since July 2007. I love spending time with my family playing board games, camping, hiking, swimming, and enjoying backyard barbecues. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to work with your children and to get to know your families this school year!

Hi! My name is Lori Buzynski and I’m so excited to continue this adventure at NSCA as one of the Pre-K/Preschool teachers. I couldn’t do this without the support of my husband, Pete, my two amazing children, Aarika and Blake, and my two adorable grandchildren, Lylah and Logan. They are my world, and I am truly blessed. We moved to Vegas 9 years ago after my husband retired from the USAF. During his 30 years of service, we were stationed in NV, FL, PA, HI, and AZ. I had the privilege of being a licensed childcare provider in all 5 states working with children from the ages of birth to 5.
A few of my favorite accomplishments during my 30 years of working and learning with young children. ~ first accredited childcare provider on Nellis AFB ~ Nursery coordinator for a Lutheran Church ~ worked alongside the TAP program that provided childcare for teenage parents. Children are my passion. I have always enjoyed learning and growing with children through adventures and play. Children bring out the best of me and continually give me a reason to smile every day. Life without children is like a day without sunshine. I look forward to beginning this new chapter of my life with all of you. I’m excited, eager, and anxious all at the same time, but ready to get this school year started. Let’s do this!!!

Hello! My name is Lisa Borodaty, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining New Song Christian Academy as one of the Pre-K teachers this year! I’ve had the joy of teaching preschool-aged children for over 20 years, and I continue to be inspired by their curiosity, creativity, and eagerness to learn. It’s such a blessing to create a space where young learners can grow, explore, and thrive each day.

In my free time, I love traveling, walking our pup, finding new adventures, and spending quality time with family and friends. Everyday is a wonderful blessing to guide and teach them with love. I get so excited to see them master a letter, a shape, social-emotional skills, cognitive skills, physical skills while also seeing them grow, spiritually speaking, in the love of God. I am looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you. It is an absolute honor being your child’s first teacher. I am so excited for this third school year as I have learned more skills that I would like to introduce to students to boost their overall positive learning experience, while reaching their full potential through developmentally appropriate lessons.

I have been working at New Song Christian Academy since 2012 as the teacher’s aide in the 3- year-old class and the 4-year-old class. I am looking forward to my second year being the teacher’s aide for all our growing elementary classes! I grew up in Southern California and have been a resident of the Anthem community with my husband and our daughter since 2003. I hold a degree in General Studies from Moorpark College Ca. I had always been actively involved in my daughter’s schools from being the room parent to PTA. I had also been a soccer mom for 13 years and the team manager for my daughter’s competitive soccer club. I enjoy my free time with my family and our pets. It’s a wonderful feeling to have that connection with the kids and families. I love setting a good foundation that will prepare them for their future and most of all that they will leave New Song with the love of learning!

Hi, I’m Tina Cook! I’m thrilled to be serving as one of the assistant elementary teachers this year at New Song Christian Academy. Last year, I had the blessing of stepping in as a substitute teacher across all grade levels, which also gave me the special gift of extra time at home with my three wonderful children—two boys and a girl. Before that, I had the joy of teaching as the lead preschool teacher for both the 3’s and 4’s classes. I’ve always loved being around little ones and watching their personalities and faith blossom. I graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a degree in Business Management and Administration and a minor in Photography.
Before joining the New Song family, I spent nearly 13 years as a stay-at-home mom. During that time, I stayed involved by volunteering in our church nursery, teaching Sunday School for 3-year-olds, and leading the Puggles group (ages 2 and 3) in AWANA. There’s nothing quite like watching a child light up when they discover something new, dance with joy during worship, or get completely absorbed in a great story. I’ll never forget the love and care the New Song staff showed my daughter when she attended, and I feel so blessed to now be part of this Christ-centered, nurturing community. I’m looking forward to an amazing year of learning and growing together

My name is Mrs. Xenia, and I have been blessed to be a part of New Song Christian Academy since 2018, serving as a teacher’s aide in both the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes. It brings me so much joy to work with young children and be part of their growth and learning journey. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey in kindergarten this year. I was born and raised in El Salvador and moved to San Francisco, California in 1998. In 2016, my husband, daughter, and I relocated to Henderson, Nevada. My connection to New Song began when my daughter attended preschool here. During that time, I volunteered regularly and quickly discovered my love for working with children. That experience opened the door to the wonderful opportunity I now have—being a part of the NSCA family! It is truly a privilege to support and care for your children each day. I’m looking forward to getting to know each of you and sharing a joyful, productive, and faith-filled school year together.

I am very excited to work with the Pre-Kindergarten class and continue being a member of the New Song Christian Academy as I have been for the past 7 years. I was born and raised in Ecuador and moved to the United States in 2005. My husband, Jose, is retired from the Air Force. In 2013, God blessed us with a beautiful daughter, Alina. I studied computer science in Ecuador and international languages after moving to Las Vegas. Before joining New Song, I worked as a kindergarten teacher assistant with the Clark County School District. We’re going to have a wonderful year getting to know one another, making new friends, and building the foundation for a strong start in kindergarten. I cannot wait to watch your children flourish

My name is Janet Girard and my family moved from Southern California to Henderson in 2022. I have a loving and dedicated husband and two sweet children whom also attend New Song Christian Academy. I grew up attending a church school for nine years. I am so thankful that I found NSCA and that my children are now taking part in this enriching life experience. I love playing board games, dancing, swimming with my family and enjoying different foods. I am honored to be a part of these children’s lives and look forward to watching them grow physically, mentally, and spiritually throughout this school year.

Hello! My name is Linda McCall. I’ve lived in Las Vegas for over 20 years, with a brief time spent in Long Island before returning to be close to my two children and three wonderful grandchildren. After moving back, I worked as a kitchen manager at a K–8 charter school for five years—a role I truly enjoyed, especially because my two oldest grandchildren attended the school for a short time. It was during that experience that I discovered what a gift it is to spend time with children.
Being a long-time worshipper at New Song Church has been an answer to many prayers. I had the blessing of serving as a substitute teacher at New Song Christian Academy during the 2024–25 school year, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to now step into a full-time role. Being part of this school community is a special and meaningful new chapter in my life, and I’m so excited to help your children learn, grow, and thrive!

I am happy to be continuing this school year at New Song Christian Academy. I was born and raised in Southern California and earned my AA and Certificate in Early Childhood Education at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. I taught at Newport Center United Methodist Preschool in Corona Del Mar, CA for 17 years while raising my two children on Balboa Island. I moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota for three years and took a break from teaching but missed it dearly. I am so happy to be the Assistant Preschool Teacher and leading the After School Enrichment Program, as working with children is definitely my calling in this life!
